Low Carbon Ladock have funded the installations of over 30 solar PV arrays across the parish of Ladock and Grampound Road. These were carried out between 2010 and 2019 to take advantage of the Feed-in Tariff.
What is the Feed in Tariff?
The Feed‑in Tariff (FiT) was a UK government scheme introduced in 2010 to encourage households and communities to generate their own renewable electricity, most commonly through solar PV. Under the scheme, Low Carbon Ladock was paid a generation tariff for every kilowatt hour produced and an export tariff for any surplus electricity sent back to the grid. These payments were made by licensed electricity suppliers and were guaranteed at the rate set when the system was first registered. This guarantee was set for 20–25 years depending on technology and installation. This has created long‑term revenue for Low Carbon Ladock, which enables the organisation to maintain the portfolio of the solar PV installations and invest funds in the community.
